A retired lab technician named Mary Leitao is responsible for the naming of Morgellons disease. She named the illness after she had taken her son to the doctor with some unusual symptoms such as a lesion and some fibers protruding from under his nose. The doctor examined the boy and could find nothing unusual and so sent Mrs Leitao home with her son reassuring her that there was nothing wrong. She didn’t rest though and was determined to find out what this unusual illness was.

There is much controversy about the illness with sufferers claiming it is a very real and debilitating disease whilst the medical profession say it is not a new disease and in fact is part of a delusional illness called delusional parasitosis and has been around for many years. The U. S governments center for disease control and prevention (CDC) are now investigating the illness to settle the matter.

Sufferers complain of lesions and white egg like lumps under the skin from which filaments or fibers protrude. These filaments vary in color from white, red and black. A Granular, sand like substance which is either black or white has also been reported as being deposited on the skin or clothes.

The main symptom appears to be the feeling of having parasites under the skin, off a feeling of crawling, burning and itching sensations. Other symptoms would appear to include cognitive ones such as confusion, memory loss and inability to comprehend simple issues. Muscular-skeletal, joint and tendon pain and exhaustion are also complained of by sufferers.

Delusional parasitosis is a psychiatric illness that causes individuals to have fixed and immovable beliefs that they have parasites or insects under their skin. The majority of the medical community believe that this is what morgellons disease is. They believe that the lesions are self inflicted and are caused due to the person trying to dig out the parasites.

Whether peoples lesions are self inflicted or caused by an unknown and as yet not curable illness it is vital that help is available to those that are suffering. Hopefully the CDC’s findings will go some way to solving the problem.

Morgellons is harsh. If you have this condition, then you need some Morgellons relief, which we can help you with. Wouldn’t life be better?

How Long Can You Expect To Live

Can we really expect to live longer? And if so, by how much? These days we do tend to expect a longer life, and figures recently released would suggest that we are indeed living longer. If mortality rates remain the same as they were up to 2008, a newborn baby girl could expect to live to 81.6 years, a newborn baby boy born in the UK could expect to live to 77.4 years

With the aid of medical advancements, improved medical care and research and improved mortality rates for surviving diseases such as cancer, it is fully conceivable that in time and with continual progression, many more people in the UK will reach the magical mark of 100.

Investigations have revealed your genes may have the capability to forecast which side of the century mark your destiny lies. Exploration into inherent signposts has unearthed some surprising insights.

Signposts found in the genes of long-lived individuals may now be able to provide a strong likely hood of predicting our chances to reach the century mark. By analysing around 150 ’signposts’ in these genes a research team from Boston University in the States has been able to develop a mathematical model or ’scientific score card’ to calculate life expectancy and longevity.

This is the largest study of the human genome of its kind. Genomes of 1,000 people that have lived or are living into their 100th year were analysed and compared to genes of randomly selected individuals.

The research team were then able to effectively categorise genetic markers found in the individuals that lived into their first century that were clearly different from those of the random selection taken. They were than able to test their theory and achieved an accuracy of over 77%.

However having this gene is no guarantee of longevity, as there are many additional elements to consider, such as the person’s life style, working history, diet and any addictions they may have succumb to during the course of their lives.

Have you ever considered the fact you may live way beyond the retirement age? If so then now is the time to consider a Medical Health Plan as it means you will always have help with the cost of remaining healthy. Health Care Plans are a good idea if you require basic cover for day to day health care.

The Science Of Infrared Ray Saunas

Although saunas were first popularized by the Finns, there is another group that made saunas a frequent part of their culture. The Native Americans are well known for their use of sweat lodges. The basics of both the Native American and Finnish saunas are quite similar.

The modern infrared ray sauna was first pioneered in the early 1900’s in Germany, where infrared ray saunas are still heavily used today. Decades later in Japan, Dr. Tadashi Ishikawa of the Research and Development Department of Fuji Medical was awarded a patent for the first ceramic infrared heater. This laid the foundation for the more efficient carbon coated ceramic infrared heaters that are used today.

Infrared saunas erupted out of Japan in the 1980’s, and from that point on their popularity around the world has continued to grow. All the many ways infrared saunas can improve one’s health have made them a favorite of health practitioners, as well every-day people. The amount of research that has gone into far infrared ray (FIR) saunas is considerable, which has been instrumental in showcasing all the ways that these can saunas heal.

In Japan, infrared sauna research and usage has been going on for many years where researchers and clinicians have completed extensive research on infrared treatments. Their reports have many eye catching findings. Some of these findings are as follows: -Improves micro circulation by exerting strong rotational and vibrational effects at molecular level. – Enhances the delivery of oxygen and nutrients in the blood cell to the body’s soft tissue areas. – Promotes regeneration and fast healing. – Increases metabolism between blood and tissue. – Enhances white blood cell function, thereby increasing immune response and the elimination of foreign pathogens and cellular waste products. – Removes accumulated toxins by improving lymph circulation which are often at the core of many health problems. – Stimulate the hypothalamus, which controls the production of neurochemicals involved in such biological processes as sleep, mood, pain sensations, and blood pressure.

Much of the data coming out of Japan is as a result of the “infrared society” that is thriving with support from medical doctors and physical therapists. Their experience motivates them to work to proliferate greater understanding and acceptance of infrared saunas as a powerful tool for healing. In her book “The Scientific Basis and Therapeutic Benefits of Far Infrared Ray Therapy,” Dr Sasaki Kyuo, M.D., details her research into the medical benefits of using FIR saunas for therapy. Included in Dr. Kyuo’s book is a list of illnesses that were successfully treated with an infrared sauna. Some of the included illnesses were: shoulder, back, and knee pain; weight loss; lower blood pressure; shoulder, back, and knee pain; weight loss; lower blood pressure; and facial numbness.

In the 2001 book, “Far Infrared, Technologies that Harness the Sun,” Valerie Free explained that the sweat from people who used a non-infrared sauna was 95 to 97% water while the sweat of those using an infrared system was 80 to 85% water with the non-water portion principally cholesterol, fat-soluble toxins, toxic heavy metals (such as mercury and aluminum), sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia and uric acid. Dr. Kyuo of Japan also explained that “one of the reasons FIR has beneficial results in a variety of illnesses is the ability of FIR waves to remove toxins, which are often at the core of many health problems. One study done by American researchers showed that the sweat released by users of a FIR sauna was different than the sweat of people using a conventional sauna or doing normal exercise. The non water portion of sweat released in a FIR sauna was cholesterol, fat soluble toxins, toxic heavy metals, sulfuric acid, sodium, ammonia and uric acid.”

Sharing his opinion of infrared saunas, after researching them for himself, G. E. Poesnecker, N.D., D.C. said that “photobiotherapy (far infrared therapy) will become one of the premier healing tools of our future. It will eliminate the need for many of today’s common surgical procedures. I can see the day when every household in the country will have a (FIR) unit on hand. When used properly, it is a safe, effective, natural tool that can enhance, rather than oppose, the body’s own innate healing powers.”

The ease with which infrared saunas can be obtained and used in our daily lives allows us to enjoy many of the same benefits that ancient cultures did before us. At the same time we can continue to watch for additional research to come out of our medical laboratories.

Published Studies States That Medical Alternative Therapies Helps with MS

Patients with MS have deal with muscle spasms, tremor and pain. Anecdotal reports suggest that medical marijuana may be helpful, but controlled studies are scarce.

One, presented at an April meeting, had fifty one MS patients smoke 0 percent or 4 percent THC medical marijuana cigarettes daily for three days.

The study found that the intensity of the spasms was lessened by as much as 32% and pain was reported reduced by 50% after smoking medical marijuana, compared with 2% and 22% reductions after placebo cigarettes.

Five of the participants withdrew, saying the side effects made them feeling too high, dizzy or fatigued.

Other studies in patients with multiple sclerosis used a cannabis extract that can be taken orally. In a 2007 European Journal of Neurology study, nearly half of’4 patients experienced at least 30% improvement in muscle spasms.

There was a contradiction in a 2004 Neurology paper that showed no reduction in objective measures of arm tremor with cannabis extract even after 5 subjects out of- stated that they felt improvement.

These reports could have been from the mood altering effects of the drug or from some aspect of tremor not measured.

Subjects did feel high senasation, an effect that varied among individuals. Medical marijuana also affected analytical skills, such instances as problems with tasks of memory and complicated reasoning after the strongest medical marijuana cigarettes were used.

As adverse of a side effect as this could be, the effects were tolerated by subjects; no one opted out of the study because they couldn’t focus.

it’s important to have a choice of treatments because not everyone responds to or can handle the available medications and drugs.

Antidepressants are used for neuropathic pain but cause dry mouth, constipation and urinary problems, and must be avoided by people with conditions such as glaucoma.

Some patients are allergic to aspirin-like drugs. Having an “plan B” compound is always a good idea. The three pain studies all concluded that smoked marijuana can bring relief to sufferers of neuropathic pain comparable to other analgesic drugs.

Just like other pain medicines, you have to keep taking it.

For overthree decades, Dr. Julian Reindhurst has studies the medicinal powers of marijuana. He has a blog that gives the perspective of how nirvana seeds benefited other civilizations. He hasa website site that looks into the medicinal positives of the nirvana seeds.

Medical Breakthroughs on Obesity

WHO announced that there are by now 1 billion adults who are overweight and 300, 000 of them are considered obese. The growing number of overweight and obese people has increased at an alarming rate; it has also reached worldwide epidemic proportions. Reasons of obesity have been connected to over consumption of food that are rich in sugar and saturated fats that are animal-based, sedentary lifestyle, and the changing eating guides among cultures in highly modernized areas around the world.

Obesity is one of the many forces of hypertension, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and certain type of cancer. Presently obesity has tuned out to be one of the most known medical issues specifically among developing countries.

If this problem is not resolved quickly, people will be at risk of fatal diseases because of obesity. Medical science around the world has continuously in search of medical breakthroughs regarding obesity. This is in response to the global demand to alleviate health-related risk of obesity. A study in Albert Einstein College of Medicine’s medical researchers has yet to be proven as one of the medical breakthroughs on obesity.

According to the research that maintaining the amount of fatty acids in the brain may be the cure to obesity. Furthermore the study aims to modify the results of molecular substance malonyl CoA. This molecule is supposed to have been an influence on the activity of the hypothalamus, which in effect enhances the hunger of an individual.

If the scientist can search for a way to alter the content of malonyl CoA in the brain, people will no longer crave for so much food. This research is posing promise to treat obesity to children and adults in a similar way, although it is yet to be experimented on humans.

Medical researchers from Imperial College have found a way to suppress the craving for food among humans. Injecting a drug that increases the oxyntomodulin content in the stomach was being done in diabetic patients. This hormone, which is produced naturally by the body sends anote to the brain that the stomach is full.
